Betty Comden and Adolph Green will appear at the Maple/Drake Jewish Com- munity Center on April 8 at 9 p.m. The team of Comden and Green, the longest-running creative partnership in theater history, began writing and performing their own satirical comic material in a group The Revuers, which included the late Judy Holliday. Their creative endeavors in- clude New York, New York, The Party's Over, Lonely Town and Peter Pan. They also col- laborated with Leonard Bern- stein on the score for Wonder- ful Town. With Jule Styne they wrote the book and/or lyrics for Bells are Ringing, Hallelujah Baby, Do Re Mi, Subways are for Sleeping, Peter Pan, and others, wrote the book for Ap- plause, and book and lyrics for On the 20th Century and A Doll's Life, a Ibny Award nominee. Their many film musicals include Singin' in the Rain, The Band Wagon, On the Town, Bells Are Ringing, It's Always Fair Weather, Good News and the Barkleys of Broadway. Glass Artist, Sculptor Show At Synagogue International glass artist Yigael Meyer will exhibit his new art work at Congregation Beth Abraham Hillel Moses in West Bloomfield April 1 and 2. The exhibit coincides with Michigan Glass Month. As a boy, he learned his craft in his father's small glassware factory in Nahariyah, Israel, and later studied art at an ORT art school in Haifa. Because of his interest in the method of Jewish glass artists in the , Roman period, he was ap- proached by the Israel museum to reproduce a work from that era. His major works are stain- ed glass windows in Israel, Germany, and the United States. A memorial to the Holocaust victims is the series of windows he created for the synagogue next to the Flosenburg concentration camp. This synagogue was built to replace the 400- year-old synagogue of Flos, which was destroyed on Kristallnacht. Recently, Meyer completed windows for Congregation Beth Abraham Hillel Moses as part of the rebuilding, following the fire of 1983 that destroyed the earlier struc- ture.
