The meeting will be 2 p.m. April 16 at the Maple/Drake Jewish Community Center, according to Morton L. Feldman, IDF-Michigan chairman. The Israeli officer, 47, who has been Israel's director of naval intelligence and has fought in all Israeli wars since 1967, will be joined by Ben Hagai of Chicago, Friends of the IDF central region director. Hagai, a New York native, served in the U.S. Armed Forces in World War II and also fought in Israel's War of Independence in 1948 and the Yom Kippur War of 1973. He is a founder of the Israel Naval Academy. Feldman said another special guest, whom he described only as a "major_ Hollywood star," also is ex- pected to appear. Friends of the IDF, unof- ficially known as "the U.S.O. of Israel," is the American fundraising partner to Israel's Association for the Well-Being of Soldiers (Aguda Lema'an Hachayal). Temple Israel Women Have Election, Lunch Temple Israel Sisterhood will hold its annual election meeting and luncheon April 10 at the temple. Lynn Stern, author and senior social worker at Turner Geriatric Services, University of Michigan Medical Center, will present "Forget Forgetting" following a noon luncheon. Ms. Stern has been teaching memory courses and workshops for five years. She has trained professionals around the country to run memory courses of their own. She has co-authored two books on memory, Improving Your Memory — A Guide for Older Adults and Memory Im- provement Programs for Older Adults — A Training Manual. Parent Meeting Probes Down's Parents of Children with Down's Syndrome, Inc. will sponsor a meeting on Thurs- day at 7:30 p.m. in the West Bloomfield home of Fay Stone, for mothers of children age 3 or below with Down's Syndrome.
