Philip Vainik, executive
director of Congregaion Beth
Achim, who will speak on
"Hamantashen and Humor"
on Monday at 1 p.m. in the

Lahser, Southfield.
Vainik came to the United
States from South Africa and
studied at the University of
South Africa and then
Hebrew University in
Jerusalem.
Dessert and beverage will

Chapter Meets
On Monday

The Metropolitan Chapter
of Na'amat/USA will meet on
Monday at noon in the
Na'amat meeting room,
25900 Greenfield, Suite
205E.
The meeting will honor the
Mother's Club and its presi-
dent, Fran Salwin. Jeanette
Serling will be the chairman
of the day.
Refreshments will be serv-
ed. There is no charge. Guests

Ladies Have
Purim Lunch

Mrs. Leo Laufer, president
of the Ladies of Yeshivath
Beth Yehudah, invites friends
to a luncheon on Wednesday
at noon at the yeshivah
building.
The luncheon is sponsored
by Mrs. Fannie Laufer and by
Mrs. Edith Weiss in memory
of their great-niece.

Women Focus
On Aging

Business and Professional
Branch, National Council of
Jewish Women — Greater
Detroit Section, will meet at
the Prentis Federation Apart-
ments, 15100 W. 10 Mile, Oak
Park on March 28. The ac-
tivities will begin with dinner
at 6 p.m., followed at 7 by a
brief business session and the
evening's program.
In a presentation entitled
"Dealing With Your Aging
Relative — 'When Is It Our
Turn?': Reality • and

Resources," Elaine Friedman
will discuss the respon-
sibilities for aging parents.
Renee Mahler will talk about
available community agen-
cies and organizations that of-
fer services to older adults,
their families or caregivers.
Friedman has a master's
degree in social work from
Wayne State University and
is a certified clinical social
worker at Jewish Family Ser-
vice. Mahler holds a post-
master's degree in geron-
tology and social work. She is
the author of Living With An
Aging Parent.
There is a fee. Guests are in-
vited. Call the NCJW office,

Borman Speaks
To Na'amat

Paul D. Borman, president
of the Detroit Jewish Com-
munity Council, will speak on
Thursday at 1 p.m. to the
members of the Greater
Detroit Council of
Na'amat/USA
The meeting will be held in

Borman will discuss con-
cerns of the Detroit Jewish
Community and his recent
trip to Israel.
