SUMMIT PICNIC

The Summit Place Mall in
Pontiac recently celebrated
the opening of its new
Picnic Restaurants with a
benefit to help fight
hunger. The grand opening
raised $5,000, which was
donated to the Food Bank
of Oakland County. Joel
Gershenson presented the
check. Rabbi A. Irving
Schnipper was on hand to
present a $6,000 check to
the Food Bank from Mazon.
Some of the people who
helped make this a
successful benefit include
Gary Dembs, Carol Sue
Coden and Janelle Miller.

The Sisterhood of
Congregation Shaarey
Zedek recently held a
brunch with guest speaker,
Jeffrey Zaslow, the
Chicago Sun-Times
columnist who replaced
He
Ann Landers.
entertained many people
at the luncheon including
Joan Provizer, Sandy
Schwartz, Janet Pont,
Lauren Bruss, Sharon
Lipton, Dottie Wagner
and the sisterhood
president-elect Anita
Millman. In addition to
Zaslow's answers to many
of his columns, the crowd
received his mom's recipe
for chicken noodle soup.

Sharona Chapter of
Na'amat USA in metro
Detroit held a luncheon in
Ft. Lauderdale. Some of the
former Detroiters who
attended include Esther
Kaber, Miriam Siegal,
Belle Trebuck, Elsie and
Al Wagenheim and Helen
Wyzan. Florida vacationers
also participated in the
reunion — Helen and
Gordan Fishman, Adell

and Herman Ozrovitz,
Lorraine and Al Gale,
Rose and Sid Kaluzny,
Ann and Sy Kaplan,
Honora and Al Lipson,
Eve Markofsky, Molly
and Ted Sallen, Bernice
and Bill Shapiro, Phyllis
and Julius Siegal, Jackie
and Carl Siegel and Ethel
and Frank Wasser. The
group had so much fun that
they are planning more
meetings and more
vacations.
