Marla Bean
Twins Rite

Dr. and Mrs. Barry Bean of
Farmington Hills proudly an-
nounce the bat mitzvah of
their daughter, Marla Lynn
Bean, tonight at Temple
Israel. Marla is sharing her
bat mitzvah with Aushag
Avadiaieva, who along with
her parents has been denied
permission to leave the Soviet
Union.
Under Soviet law, Aushag is
denied the right to celebrate
her bat mitzvah because she
is under 16 years old.
Marla, a seventh grader at
Dunckle Middle School, is the
granddaughter of Mrs.
Shirley Bean and Mr. and
Mrs. Irving Siporin and the
great-granddaughter of Mrs.
Josephine Kazdan and Mr.
and Mrs. Max Siporin.

B'NAI MITZVAH

Howard Kaye, son of Connie
and Donald Kaye, and Scott
Liefer; son of Nancy and Den-
nis Liefer, will twin the obser-
vance of their b'nai mitzvah
celebration Saturday at Adat
Shalom Synagogue with An-
drey Shaulov, son of Rachel
and Anatoly Shaulov of Groz-
ny, USSR.
The Shaulovs and their four
children applied for emigra-
tion in 1976 and without
reason, Soviet authorities
gave them an official refusal
in May 1977. Then a tragedy
struck the family: their nine-
year-old daughter died.
Since then, Shaulov's wife
has been inconsolable.
Shaulov has tried desperate-
ly to obtain exist visas so that
his wife can be reunited with
her parents, her brother and
sister who live in Israel.
Howard and Scott have
written to Andrey and will at-
tempt to reach the family by
phone.
