depends on the skill of the
person, the time he spends on
it," says Math. -
Adds Yamin, "We discuss
world politics and everything
else — sometimes we do more
talking than working."
What happens to the finish-
ed product? Many end up
decorating club members'
homes, but many others
become gifts for family and
friends.
Stepak, the club's senior
member (15 years) who plans
to visit his sister this
Passover in Israel, gave carv-
ings to her and to the Dimona
Museum. The city honored
him with a medal.

Yamin, whose son-in-law is
rabbi of a temple in Pro-
vidence, R.I., is working on a
carving of the temple as a
gift.
Math is working on a
Rockwell-type piece showing
a youngster on the toilet. His
5-year-old granddaughter is
eagerly waiting to hang it in
her room. "'When you going
to finish it, Grandpa?' she's
always asking me."
Stepak's current project is
carvings of Chaim Weizmann,
one of which he'll take to
Israel. Holding one aloft, he
eyes it critically, then says
with a grin, "It looks like
Trotsky." ❑
