Olga Freud Association of Americans and Canadians in Israel, Tel Aviv Automobile Connection The Ginsburg-Mayer- Krolik clan continues to enjoy Philip Slomovitz's byline. His excellent article Jan. 6 about the automobile trade which highlighted my grandfather, Bernard Ginsburg, was much appreciated. Few peple in the world are aware of my grand- father's original interest in the automobile world. Thanks again for bringing it to the attention of the readers of The Jewish News. John L. Mayer Bloomfield Hills Thanks For 'Ashes To Ashes' Thank you for printing Michael Weiss' essay, "Ashes to Ashes," on Feb. 17. I was very moved by Michael's will- ingness to visit Poland and his attempt to grasp what the Holocaust was all about. He is a very brave young fellow. I was deeply touched that he chose to share his feelings in such an emotional manu- script. I'm so thrilled that he won a scholarship to Wayne State University for this essay because this sensitive, courageous individual surely deserves it. Intelligently priced. STANLEY LEVINE, D.C. Why Do You Suffer From Your Headaches? Millions of Americans suffer from headaches every day. Why? Technically, most chronic headaches are due to irritation and compression of the upper spinal nerves. But, when you talk about a headache, you could spend an hour discussing various technical aspects and they'd still all boil down to one thing: Pain. To stick with the 'why,' you must realize that headache is part of the symptom complex in many diseases. However, most chronic or recurring headaches at the base of the skull and upper neck are caused by irritation of the upper three spinal nerves. Spinal nerves which supply the scalp may be compressed or irritated by a slightly displaced spinal segment which partly occludes the spinal opening through which the nerves exit the spine. DR. LEVINE These nerves may also be irritated or compressed by postural decay of the upper spine. It should be remembered that all serious headache problems start with first one and then another, until the condition is chronic. Talk to a person who suffers from recurring migraine attacks and you'll seek treat- ment of your first headache. Taking a pain pill every day is a self-treating, habit-forming potent that is nothing less than delaying the headache, offering only temporary relief. It is time to seek treatment aimed at correcting the cause of the problem. Don't Live With Pain. We Can Help!
