perform March 5 at 7:30 p.m.
in a candlelight cabaret at
the Birmingham Temple.

Falbel's background in-
cludes classical training,
musical theater and folk
traditions of three continents.
Born into a musical family in
Vienna, Falbel first sang
songs of German Lieder and
Yiddish and Hebrew folk
songs. When she was two, her
family moved to New York.
She returned to Vienna for
L study at the Academy of
Music and Dramatic Art, and
appeared on New York's off-
I Broadway stages.
Falbel has performed in
seven languages: French,
Spanish, English, German,
Hebrew, Yiddish and Ladino.

win Wine who will speak on
"Self-Reliance: The Pleasures
of Independence," at 2:30 p.m.
Sunday. In commemoration of
the 200th anniversary of the
Fall of the Bastille, a review
of George Rude's The French
Revolution will be presented
at 10 a.m. Thursday. Both lec-
