Benshalom Sculptures
Exhibited At Center

Itzik Benshalom, Israeli
sculptor and Arta Gallery
Ltd., of Israel, will have a
showing at the Maple/Drake _
Jewish Community Center of
sculptures as well as oils,
pastels, watercolors a _ n prints,
March 4-19.

Born in Hadera, Israel, in
1945, Benshalom has worked
closely with many artists
since 1967 when he set up a

foundry specializing in the
4,000-year-old "lost wax"
method of casting sculpture.
Benshalom's sculpture
refers to human emotion.
Created in pairs, male and
female, the sculpture are
often movable pieces.
There will be an opening
reception on March 4 at 7:15
. p.m. with Benshalom and
homer Barkay, owner of Ar-
ta Gallery.

Rabbi Hertz Narrates
'King David' Oratorio

Rabbi Richard Hertz, rabbi
emeritus of Temple Beth El,
will be the narrator when The
Fort Street Chorale and
Chamber Orchestra perform
Arthur Honegger's Sym-
phonic Psalm, King David,
this spring.
Rabbi Hertz has served
Temple BethEl since 1953.
He has taken an active part
in civic and religious affairs,
both in the local community
and on the national scene.
In addition to Rabbi Hertz,
the performance will feature
Imogene Bird, soprano; Elsie
Inselman, mezzo-soprano;
and Edward Kingins, tenor.
Dr. David Daniels will direct.
The performance will be on
Mother's Day, May 14, at 5
p.m.
