Rouder's piano, which she
now plays "irregularly," fits
comfortably into her Birm-
ingham apartment, which is
filled with the numerous an-
tique pieces she's collected.
She's especially proud of the
apartment's natural wood
floor, which she stripped and
refinished by herself last
summer.
When Rouder manages to
tear herself away from the
demands of her new job, one
may find her on the tennis
court or at a meeting of the
Sierra Club, where she can
advocate on behalf of our en-
vironment, another of her
serious concerns.
But music still ranks
number one on Willa
Rouder's scale of interests.
"At times in my life I felt
presssured to do something
practical with my music, like
music education or music
therapy, but so far I'm really
glad that I resisted the fast
track career."

Art Show

Sholem Aleichem In-
stitute's 26th annual art show
will be held March 10-12 at
the Shenandoah Country
Club, 5600 Walnut Lake,
West Bloomfield. Hours are
11 a.m.-10 p.m. March 10 and
11 and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. March
12.
Professional artists of
Michigan, representing many
media and selected from
established and new talent,
will be featured.
The show is dedicated in
memory of an artist and
member of Sholem Aleichem
Institute, Sylvia Chover.

Leningrad First Interna-
tional Non-Feature Film
Festival, Jan. 25-31, where
her Oscar-winning film
Young at Heart was shown.
Marx accepted a film award
