Einstein Forum
Meets Tuesday
Margaret Scobey, political-
military affairs officer in the
U.S. State Department's office
of Israel and Arab-Israeli af-
fairs, will address the Eins-
tein Luncheon Forum on
Tuesday at noon at the
Southfield-Hilton Hotel, it
was announced by Judges Ira
G. Kaufman and Benjamin
Friedman, the forum's
co-chairmen.
Ms. Scobey will discuss
"The Status of U.S.-Israel
Relations!" A Foreign Service
officer since 1981, Ms. Scobey
has served in Lima, Peru, and
Peshawar, Pakistan. She was
staff assistant to the assistant
secretary of state for Near
Eastern and South Asian af-
fairs, and since 1986 has been
re-assigned to the U.S. con-
sulate general in Jerusalem.
Ms. Scobey holds B.A. and
M.A. degrees from the
University of Tennessee and
did doctoral work at the
University of Michigan.
