David Gad-Harf, executive
director of the Jewish Com-
munity Council, will speak at
"Hearts for the Hungry and
Homeless" on Monday. The
program, which will feature a
one-mile walk through down-
town Birmingham and an all-
- night vigil in Shain Park, is
sponsored by the Oakland
County Hunger Task Force
and the Community House.
Gad-Harf will affirm the
Jewish community's commit-
ment to working in concert
with all faiths to address the
problems of the hungry and
homeless in greater Detroit.
Among Council's recent ef-
forts to fight these problems
was co-sponsorship of the
World Food Day "7 Percent
Solution" campaign, which
raised more than $8,000 in
donations to area food banks
in 1988.
