have the better teams includ-
ed in the playoffs."
The top four teams in each
division are invited to a one-
day, single-elimination
playoff tournament. This
year's playoffs are set for
April 23.
Can Detroit I continue their
string of titles? "We have a
couple teams that may give
them a challenge this year,"
says Melton.

"This year's going to be real
tough," says Roger Lesser.
"There's two new teams and
a lot of new players. Young
players that are a lot taller
than us. We're giving away
four or five inches per posi-
tion to some of those teams.
And they're 10 or 12 years
younger than us. So this could
be the last year we win this
thing — if w_ e win it this
year." [11
