Martin there are the roman-
tics. She was married to Mor-
ris Meyerson who accom-
panied her to Israel and she
did not divorce him. But the
Golda volume tells about love
affairs — with Zalman Shazar
who became the third presi-
dent of Israel, the Labor
Zionist leader David Remez,
Henry Montor who was with
David Ben-Gurion the virutal
creators of the Israel Bonds
cause, and the many who ad-
mired her.
Ben-Gurion was among the
admirers who at one time
said she was "the only man in
his cabinet," as a tribute to
her abilities.
I was believed in some
quarters in Ben-Gurion's
later years that he had a
dispute with her. This Golda
doesn't reveal it.
The vast importance of this
book in its depiction of the
eminent lady as a power in
the labor movement, as the
great lady who inspired
Jewish audiences, as the
diplomat whose addresses at
the United Nations made
world, Israel and Jewish
history.
While this is a brief descrip-
tion of her, it should indicate
the immensity of the Martin
book. It is a valuable addition
to biographical writing.

In Ben-Gurion's
Creative Tasks
David Ben-Gurion, the
founding Prime Minister of
Israel, will always be a per-
sonality in history whose
creative tasks will always be
subjects for inspiration in
Jewish history. His recorded
accomplishments, his life's ex-
periences, will remain guides
in biographical studies.
