An "Evening On Broad-
way" cabaret concert will be
presented on Feb. 11 at 8 p.m.
by the Julius Chajes Music
Fund Concert Series and the
Maple/Drake Jewish Com-
munity Center.
It is part of the "Let Us
Entertain You" series, which
is funded in part by the
Michigan Council for the Arts
and the Manny and Natalie
Charach Endowment Fund.
Refreshments will be served.
This concert is open to the
public at a fee.
The music of Gershwin,
Berlin and Bernstein will be
featured in honor of this
year's celebration of their
birthdays. Singing in this per-
formance will be Mark Von-
drak, David S. Pulice, Manly
Mercer and Chris Jones

David Pulice
Pulice has performed with
the Michigan Opera
Theater's Overture to Opera
program, and for 31/2 years
with a traveling theater
group based in New York. He
has been artistic director of
Opera Lite (formerly Light
Opera of Michigan) since it
was formed in June 1986, and
most recently directed the
Opera Lite productions of Oh,
Coward! and The Pirates of
Penzance at the Smith
Theater, Amahl and the
Night Visitors at the Macomb
Center for the Performing
Arts with the Macomb Sym-
phony, and Give My Regards
To Broadway! — Part 1.
Mark Vondrak
Vondrak has appeared in
the Opera Lite productions of
Side By Side by Sondheim,
The Pirates of Penzance, as
Pierre in The Desert Song, as
Papageno in The Magic Flute
and in Give My Regards To
Broadway! — Part 1.
Vondrak has sung in
Michigan Opera Theater's
mainstage productions of La
Traviata and Faust.
He also appeared in the
Toledo Opera production of
The Student Prince and is a
frequent performer with
MOT's Overture Opera
program.
Pulice has performed in and
directed several productions
for Opera Lite, Light Opera of
Michigan, Michigan Lyric
Opera Company, the Opera
House Dinner Theater and
Dearborn Civic Theater. He
was assistant to the director
for the Nederlander produc-
tion of Oliver! at the Birm-
ingham Theater, was stand-
by for Jack Carter, who star-
red in that production.
Madly Mercer
Mercer has sung in this
country and in England. She
has been featured by the
Michigan Opera Theater and
many local symphony or-
chestras. Her English creden-
tials include singing for the
Lord Mayor of London on
three separate occasions. She
has studied voice in both the
U.S. and England and taught
at Oakland University.
