Roman of Temple Kol Ami will repre- sent Detroit on the United Jewish Appeals's annual Rab- binic Cabinet Mission to Europe and Israel, Feb. 12-23. Rabbis from across the country will participate in the mission, which will in- clude a visit to a transient camp for Soviet Jews, where refuseniks reside while awaiting visas to the United States. Participants also will see old Jewish Rome and sites in Romania, including Bucha- rest and Moldavia. From Europe, participants will tour Israel for five days. N EWS t i•••••••E Bonds Sets Sales Record New York (JTA) — The State of Israel Bonds Organization raised more than $631 million in cash for Israel's economic develop- ment in 1988, the best year in the campaign's 38-year history, according to David Hermelin, international chairman and Julian Venezky, chairman of the board of the organization. Bond sales in 1988 exceed- ed by $27 million those of 1987. It was also the fourth consecutive record-breaking year for the Bonds organization.
