Rochel Wineberg, Robert Steinberg and Arlene Wofferd, head nurse of
labor and delivery, show the new prints to be hung at Sinai.

Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi
Menachem Schneerson.
Rochel Wineberg, vice presi-
dent of the Lubavitch
Women's Organization, and
Rochel Kagan, who mention-
ed it briefly at a recent
Lubavitch Women's
Organization dinner.
Before the evening was over,
they had numerous pledges to
pay for the paintings. Many
are donated in memory of lov-
ed ones or in honor of sim-
chas. A number of paintings
also were given in memory of
the rebbe's late wife, Rebbet-
zin Chaya Mushka, whose
yahrtzeit was last Saturday.
The paintings at Sinai were
placed throughout rooms
where expectant mothers and
babies will be: 10 are in bir-
thing rooms, two in special
care units, six in nurseries,
four in intensive care unit

nurseries and two are in
rooms for mothers experienc-
ing difficult births.
And that's just the start of
it. The project has been so
popular, Rochel Wineberg
says, that the Lubavitch
Women may soon bring pain-
tings with the Shir Lama'alot
blessings to other area
hospitals.
Robert Steinberg, Sinai's
acting president, says he is
delighted with the Shir
Lama'alot project. "We expect
mothers will feel more com-
fortable knowing that this
blessing — and so the
presence of God — is in the
room during this miraculous
event."
He adds that he hopes to
place a large reproduction of
the blessing, together with an
English translation, in the
hospital waiting room.
