the temperate climate of the distant
Australs.
Bora Bora, situated 143 miles
northwest of Tahiti, can be reached in
55 minutes by air or by the air-condi-
tioned ferry that leaves Tahiti twice
weekly and stops at Huahine, Raiatea,
and Tahaa along the way before
arriving at Bora Bora the following day.
At the famed Bloody Mary, a seafood
restaurant with a huge thatched roof,
white sand floor, rough-hewn tables
and coconut log stumps, fish is
barbequed on grill to the delight of
onlooking diners and served in a
setting that's straight out of a South

The Hotel Bora Bora offers a
complete range of water sports and
frequent Tahitian dance shows. There
are 15 acres of magnificent tropical

Kinder to the wallet is the Club
Mediterranee. There are all the
standard Club Med amenities,
including a large restaurant, bar,
nightclub with nightly disco dancing,
sailing, picnics and glass bottom boat
excursions. Guests stay in 45
Polynesian-style thatched roof
bungalows built on stilts over the
lagoon.

scents everywhere of coffee and
vanilla; vast stretches of open
grasslands; highlands with lush
tropical habitats alive with monkeys,
mongoose, and rare iguanas.
The most populous and
economically advanced of the South
Pacific island groups, Fiji is an
archipelago of more than 300 islands,
