An up-and-coming trend noted
by Bride's magazine is the long,
weekend wedding, where the ac-
tivities surrounding the wedding go on
for days. This is becoming popular
because the families of the bride and
groom are often from different cities,
and consequently there are now many
more out-of-town guests.
It's not uncommon for weekend
wedding festivities to include a rehear-
sal dinner, the ceremony and recep-
tion, then a brunch or other post-
wedding activities. Some of these
events, like a brunch or luncheon,
may be hosted by friends of the brides
family.
The bride's family may also ar-
range for out-of-town guests to stay in
one hotel. A "hospitality suite" with
such amenities as coffee, tea, cold
sodas, cakes and cookies can be set
up in the hotel so that the out-of-
towners have a place where they can
get together.
High technology is now part of
weddings and wedding preparations.
