She found her bridal gown at
Salon
in
Boulevard
Bridal
Birmingham, after trying on many
dresses.
"Because Fm so petite, I got lost
in a lot of the designs. It was hard to
imagine what the sample dress would
look like on me when it was three
sizes too large," she said.
"I liked the top part of one dress,
the train on another, so they literally
made me a custom gown," she said.
"Even when it came in, they had
to have more lace and pearls flown
over from Belgium. I had a certain idea
of what I wanted and they did it
perfectly."
She said once completed the
dress was tight fitting on top, the
sleeves made of lace, puffy in the
middle, the bottom adorned with
pearls and lace, and the train cut-out
and also covered with pearls.
Once the major preparations
were made, Hillary said that the
parties and the entertainment were
next.
"That's when all the showers,
and the friends of the mother-of-
the-bride make you all the parties,"
she said.
"The best advice I can give to
a bride-to-be is to enjoy that day
to the fullest," she said. "It goes by
so quickly that you won't believe
it."
"I had always heard such
horror stories about weddings from
my friends," she said.
"Some said their parents were
at each other's throats; others
complained about arrangements
getting botched up, and just a lot
of bad things. I couldn't have done
it without my mother. She was
terrific and it brought us very
close:"
"I think that you should have
fun, and take it as it comes. In the
end everything works out for the
best," she said.
"In your eyes you hire the
best, and after that it's show
time."
