Debbie said she advises future
brides to make sure that they have a
video movie made of their wedding.
"Every time I watch ours, I cry
at the end," she said.
The video includes footage of the
most memorable parts of their
courtship before the wedding, like the
carriage scene which they went back
and staged for the camera crew.
Debbie said that another
important factor in planning is being
able to count on the people that you
love.

decide what she did want in a partner.
"Everyone who knew us kept
asking us when the big day was," she
said. "I just didn't want to push him."
He arranged to have both sides
of parents at a 40th birthday dinner
celebration, which turned out to be
more than a happy birthday.
"Dessert came, and the waiter
wanted me to make the first slice," she
said.
"He kept making me slice the
cake, and serve. I started thinking 'I
don't want to do this. "
As the story goes, the waiter
served Sheila a piece of cake that
contained a piece of foil with a ring
in it.
"My heart just dropped:' she said
with a large smile as she recalled that
evening.
"There it was — The Wedding
Ring. Everyone went crazy; my dad
ordered the champagne, and my
mother ran to the phone:"
Sheila said that after that evening
the preparations began almost
immediately.
"The first thing we did was
choose a date; we called Shaarey
Zedek and asked them what they had
available in May," she said.
