Debbie Mazer

lucky, we had wonderful weather
when it finally came around."
The ceremony was held at the
Adat Shalom synagogue in
Farmington, and the reception was
held at the Radisson Hotel in
Southfield.
"We chose the Radisson because
we thought it was such a beautiful
hotel," he said.
Debbie said she thought the
hardest part of the entire wedding was
trying to secure a date, and felt it
should be top priority before any other
arrangements.
She says the next step was to find
the appropriate band.
"We decided on Jerry Ross as well
as Just Us," she said.
"Both are really popular bands,
and we decided that we wanted a
traditional .wedding, so we had
continuous music.
She says that the wedding was
traditional in some ways with its
black and white color theme, white
bridesmaid dresses, and blush pink
as a secondary color, but the
ceremony remained conservative.
Also on hand was the first string
quartet from the Detroit
Symphony Orchestra.
The large wedding had seven
bridesmaids and ushers, two
rabbis, and a cantor.
As for pictures, Debbie says
Leo Knight was her man.
"He's been our family
photographer since I was five years
old," she said.
"Leo's wife, Sue, also played a
big part in my wedding
arrangements. She acted as a
consultant, and she really helped
me out with the rehearsals, name
cards, etiquette, and the
invitations," she said.
The invitations chosen were
contemporary with a pop art
daffodil flower. They were mailed
out five weeks prior to the
wedding, and six weeks prior to
the out-of-towners.
Once all of that was taken
care of, Debbie said it was time to
search for the perfect dress.
