On behalf of the Jewish Welfare Federation, Joel D. Tauber, left, Paul D.
Borman and Emery I. Klein accepted the Pinchas Sapir Award for
Continuing Excellence, from the United Jewish Appeal. The award
recognizes Detroit's "outstanding achievement in the 1987 Allied Jewish
Campaign." Under the leadership of Borman and Klein, Detroit had the
highest per capita campaign increase of any large community. Tauber is
chairman of the Federation Executive Committee.

B'nei Akiva campers who
attended Camp Stone in the
past, as well as prospective
campers for the coming camp-
ing season, are invited to the
Camp Stone Reunion/Shab-
baton in Cleveland, Ohio,
Feb. 3-5.
The Shabbaton will take
place at the B'nei Akiva
youth center at the Young
Israel of Cedar Road, and
transportation and housing
will be provided for the
Detroit chapter through the
B'nei Akiva offices.
The weekend Shabbaton
will be conducted in a camp-
like fashion, with Shabbat
services conducted by the
I
youth themselves. Camp
counselors and other staff
members will lead the
weekend program. The Camp
Stone Reunion Shabbaton is
open to youth in grades
three-10. For reservations,
contact the B'nei Akiva office,
967-3742. There is a discount
for members who register
before Jan. 23.
The Young Israel-B'nei
Akiva Kvutzot Shabbat
groups will meet at both
B'nei Akiva branches this
weekend at a new time of 4
p.m. Youth in grades
kindergarten-five are invited
to spend Shabbat afternoon
at Young Israel of Greenfield
