general co-chairmen of the

Library Plans
'Friends Week'

The Friends of the Hun-
tington Woods Library will
have its second annual
Friends Week Sunday
through Jan. 21. All the
events are free and will take
place in the library.
Refreshments will be served.
On Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
there will be an evening of
music with the Edwards
Family.
On Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Lowell Cauffiel, author of the
best-selliing Masquarade,
will speak.
Hope Palmer, local artist
and art educator, will speak
on "The Emperor's New
Clothes: How to Look at Con-
temporary Art in the 1980's"
at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
On Jan. 21 at 11 a.m., The
Princess and the Pea will be
presented for children four
years old and up. The
Stagecrafters Youth Theater
Group will present this fairy
tale. Hot chocolate will be
served afterward.

cal Institute of America.

praiser, Schubot is a member

Society and the International

Society of Appraisers. He also
is on the board of the Detroit
Institute of Arts Founders
Junior Council and, like Par-

P'TACH Fete
Draws 380

ichael Hochheiser,
honored Sunday
night for his fund-
raising efforts on behalf of
P'TACH, said the tribute
should go to the people of
Detroit for their support of
the program for learning
disabled children.
Noting the 380 people at
Congregation Dovid Ben
Nuchim for the eighth an-
nual dinner, Hochheiser,
P'TACH board chairman,
said, "The people of Detroit
are the exact antithesis" of
the Pharoah of Egypt who
"had no compassion, no feel-
ing" and slept despite warn-
ings of the harm coming to
Egyptian children.
Hochheiser, cemetery ad-
ministrator at Hebrew
Memorial Park, said the
awareness and generosity of
Detroiters since the pro-
gram's inception in 1979 had
helped learning disabled
