rently may not consider buy-
ing a Chevrolet," says
Chevrolet General Manager
Robert D. Burger. "Products
under the Geo nameplate are
aimed at meeting the needs of
a variety of customer
lifestyles?'
Geo Prizm, with its high
equipment content and per-
formance characteristics,
straddles the upper end of the
small-car segment and the
beginning of the compact
segment.
The newest product from
New United Motor Manufac-
turing, Inc., the General
Motors-Toyota joint venture,
is available as a 4-door not-
chback or 5-door hatchback.
Its aerodynamic shape con-
tributes to low wind and noise
and excellent visibility.
Design details include
smoothly-integrated front
and rear bumpers, flush-
mounted windshield and rear
window, aero-style composite
halogen headlamps and semi-
concealed windshield wipers.
Prizm's standard features
include: unitized body-frame
construction, front-wheel
drive, all-season steel-belted
radial tires, power front
disc/rear drum brakes, tinted
glass (with top-shaded wind-
shield), left-hand remote out-
side rearview mirror,
headlamps-on warning
buzzer, fuel-warning lamp,
remote-release fuel-filler door
and a rear window defogger.
Exterior colors are: white,
light blue metallic, dark blue
metallic, dark chestnut
metallic, bright red and
medium gray metallic.
Geo Storm 2 + 2 — a sporty
entry for the versatile Geo
lineup — will be introduced in
fall 1989 as a 1990 model to
replace Geo Spectrum. The
two Geo Storm models will
feature aerodynamic design,
with a drag coefficient in the
.31 range.
Geo Metro is the lowest-
priced, most fuel-efficient
model in Chevrolet's new Geo
lineup. Two models of the
four-passenger Suzuki-
produced subcompact are
available, a hatchback coupe
and a four-door hatchback
sedan. Geo Metro's 1.0 liter
3-cylinder engine with throt-
tle body electronic fuel injec-
tion and 5-speed manual
transmission gets an EPA-
estimated 53 miles per gallon
city1/258 mpg highway which
should put it atop the fuel
economy standings. Standard
features include front-wheel
drive, fold-down rear seat for
increased cargo capacity, and
lap/shoulder belts for all
passenger positions. Metro
begins at $5,995.00 MSRP.
