Geo — means "of the world"
and the lineup will include
the Geo Prizm, a family car
available in hatchback or
notchback and the Geo
Storm, a sporty car with
aerodynamic design.
The Lumina line will in-
clude a sedan, a sporty coupe
and a multi-purpose
passenger vehicle.
First glimpses of many
other futuristic cars will be
available including, Chrysler,
Ford, Buick, Oldsmobile,
Cadillac, Pontiac, GMC, Mit-
'subishi and Peugeot. Volks-
wagen and Audi will also
make a Detroit debut. The
1990 version of the new town
car is rumored to be unveiled.
Journalists will have access
to speak directly to every top
auto industry executive in-
cluding General Motors
Chairman Roger Smith, Ford
Chairman Donald Petersen,
Chrysler Motors Chairman
Gerald Greenwald and Toyota
Motor Sales President
Yukiyasa Togo.
The North American Inter-
national Auto Show plans to
live up to its name.
Show dates are from Jan.
7-15. Hours are from
noon-10:30 p.m. on weekends
and 2:30-10:30 p.m. Monday
through Friday. Admission is
$5 for adults. Seniors and
children accompanied by a
parent are free.

Geo Debuts
At Auto Show

Geo Prizm and Geo Storm
will make their world debut
at the North American Inter-
national Auto Show in
Detroit, Cobo Hall, January
7-15, 1989, providing the first
glimpse of the entire Geo
lineup.
Prizm, the Geo flagship
family sedan, and Storm, the
sporty 2 + 2 coupe, will round
out the Geo lineup and are
shown with the other Geo
family members: the fuel-
efficient "Metro," the
economical "Spectrum," and
"Tracker," a new four-wheel-
drive sport utilitty vehicle.
Geo is not a separate fran-
chise, but a whole new ap-
proach to marketing GM's
import vehicles from
Chevrolet. The Geo models
will be offered only through
Chevrolet dealers which will
tout new Geo signage and
separate display areas and/or
facilities, where appropriate.
