36th anniversary of Young
Israel of Oak-Woods honor-

FELICIA PALAZZOLO-
SHAW, of Nino of Somerset
Salon recently hosted a
press party to display the
latest hair styles. Stylist
LAURIE FYNKE created a
classic look with an up-
dated French twist and the
new spring look of an
upswept bob.

At the Butzel Center in Or-

tonville about 88 people, in-
cluding 31 bubbies and
zadyes with grandchildren,
had a wonderful weekend
sponsored by Fresh Air
Society. "It was fantastic,"
said PERKY ELLISON
who went with her husband
SHEL and grandchildren
JERED and DANNY
MATZ. Some of the other
families included: ARLENE
and ASHER TILCHIN with
grandchildren, MICHAEL,
JEFFREY and JODY
SCHOSTAK, and BEA and
GEORGE KANTOR with
five KANTOR grand-
children. Perky Ellison
commented on the con-
geniality of the group and
the terrific counselors. "If a
child cried, somebody
always picked them up."
The next Bubbie and Zayde
weekend is March 10-12.

Basic Hebrew
Class Offered

Machon L'Torah, The
Jewish Learning Network of
Michigan, announces it will
again offer a "Crash Course
in Basic Hebrew." The course
is designed to teach basic
Hebrew reading skills in six
weekly sessions.
The classes will take place
on Mondays at 7:30 p.m. from
Jan. 16, through Feb. 20. All
classes will be held at the
Machon L'Torah Learning
Center, 15221 W. 10 Mile,
Oak Park, and at a West
Bloomfield location to be
announced.
This crash course, co-
sponsored by the National
Jewish Outreach Program, is
offered free of charge. For in-

Support Group
For Widowed

A non-denominational sup-
port group for young widows
and widowers between the
ages of 21 and 45 is being
formed by the sisterhood of
Temple Kol Ami.
The program will meet once
a week for two-hour sessions.
Day and evening groups will
be available. For information,
