Midrasha Lecture Sunday
Focuses on Jewish Law

The Midrasha- College of
Jewish Studies, a division of
United Hebrew Schools, will
hold the second lecture of a
four-part series entitled,
"Sundays at the Midrasha —
Learning for the Sake of
Learning" on Sunday at 7:30
p.m.
Rabbi Rod M. Glogower, ad-
junct lecturer in Judaic
studies, University of

Michigan, will present the
fourth lecture of the series.
Dr. Gitelman will speak on
"Freeze and Thas: The Evolu-
tion of Soviet-Israeli Rela-
tions."
The series of lectures will
be held in the LaMed Audi-
torium of United Hebrew
Schools and is open to the
public at no charge. For infor-
mation, contact the Midrasha

Histadrut Has
Chanukah Event

Rabbi Rod Glogower

Michigan and rabbinic con-
sultant, University of
Michigan B'nai B'rith Hillel
Foundation, will speak on
"Duties and Rights in
American and Jewish Law."
Rabbi Glogower will explore
the distinction between the
Anglo-American legal tradi-
tion and the Jewish legal
tradition.
On Jan. 8 at 2 p.m., Dr.
Mashey Bernstein, lecturer,
department of English at the
University of Michigan, will
present the third lecture of
the series. Dr. Bernstein's
topic is entitled, "Everything
You Wanted to Know About
Jews in the Movies But Were
Afraid to Ask," and on Jan. 22
at 7:30 p.m., Dr. Zvi Gitel-
man, professor of political
science at the University of

Metro Detroit Histadrut
will have its annual
Chanukah brunch on Sunday
at 11:30 a.m. in the Morris L.
Lieberman Hall, 25900
Greenfield, Suite 205E, Oak
Park.
Latkes along with all the
trimmings, a Chanukah sing-
along led by Regional Ex-
ecutive Director Goldie Eskin
and a movie Almonds and
Raisins are part of the
planned festivities.
