the Builders Association of
Southeastern Michigan
(BASM).
Among them was: Herbert

Inducted 'into the associa-
tion's Hall of Fame were:

Ruth Redstone, founding
member of the Women's Ar-
chitectural League, has been
named an honorary member
of the Detroit Chapter of the
American. Institute of
Architects.
Mrs. Redstone has been a
socal worker. In her spare
time she participated in the
research and editing of her
husband Louis Redstone's
professional books: Art and
Architecture, New Dimensions
in Shopping Centers and
Stores, The New Downtowns,
Public Art-New Directions (co-
author), and Masonry and Ar-
chitecture. She is helping her
husband to write his
autobiography to be publish-
ed In 1989. She received the
Heart of Gold Award from the
United Foundation in 1974.
Mrs. Redstone has served as
president of the Women's
Division of the Greater
Detroit Interfaith Round
Table of Christians and Jews,
the League of Jewish
Women's Organizations of
Greater Detroit and the
Women's Division of the
American Jewish Congress.
She is a board member of
the Detroit Round Table,

Israel Trees
Cut Down

Geneva (JTA) — Neo-Nazis
are suspected of vandalizing
trees planted in Basel this
year to mark the 40th anni-
versary of Israel'S. indepen-
dence.
Twenty-five of the 40 cedars
of Lebanon were cut down
last week. The local Jewish
community is " unsure
whether the vandals were
Swiss or Germans who cross-
ed the nearby border between
Switzerland and West
Germany.
