Backache is one of man's most common ailments and complaints. Besides being a real pain in the back, backache can be a hint of future health problems or an actual reflex symptom of a current disorder. How can this be? What relationship does the spine have to health? The nervous system is the main control of the body and disturbances of that system are primary factors in the development of disease processes. Disrelationships between the spinal segments (vertebrae) can cause func- tional disorders in the body. These displacements of the vertebrae (called subluxations) occur frequently and are a specific cause of nerve irritation. When there is irritation to a specific nerve or group of nerves that supply the control to a certain organ or part of the body, there will be disfunction, and thus, the breakdown of natural resistance and the beginning of disease. Backaches often bring people to a chiropractor for the first time. Through this introduction, they have learned that chiropractic care is not limited to back disorders. They have found that the science of chiropractic can solve many and varied health problems. Don't Live With Pain. We Can Help!
