The Gerners applied for visas in 1978 but were refus- ed because a close relative, who does not wish to leave the Soviet Union, will not give permission for them to emigrate as required by Soviet law. Sarah and Rachel have written to Elina, and they will attempt to reach the family by phone. Weiss Twins Celebration Ilyse Erin Weiss, daughter of Annie and Gary Weiss, will celebrate her bat mitzvah tonight at Temple Israel. She will symbolically share her bat mitzvah with Elena Kilberg of RSFSR, USSR. Elena is the daughter of Mikhail and Sofia Kilberg. Their exit visas have been refused due to "secrecy" and "no invitation." Elena is in- terested in music, and her parents have requested sheet music for her. Ilyse has writ- ten to Elena, but has receiv- ed no reply. Ilyse is presently a seventh grader at Orchard Lake Mid- dle School. She is the grand- daughter of Regina Jabionka and Helen Weiss. iffloommwwwww - ' 111 111111111111111111 PUN Mir- IIIIIIIIIIIIP F -Aill IN STOCK 11,1 "1 ‘111111111111111111 111111 1 1 il 'NIMIIIIMIIMI Illikil'illilil imm1111,11 $3190° l;1 1 1 1 iminac1111101 Illy manni111011111 -.mu .‘k: , Etil0 I I •The Latest in Radar Science • City/Highway Switch • Power On/Off • Audible & Visual Warning • Mute Switch 1111111 11111.1 111111111MMOMMEMOMM birminghamAgo9ound 1608 S.
