Detroit benefit, amounting to
$50,000, will be donated to
the research.
After the strolling dinner,
patrons went into the Fisher
to listen to musical selections
from The Pirates of Penzance
sung by cast members. The
fashion show utilized the set-
tings of the play.
Amid the backdrop of pirate
ships, caves and crossbones,
models featured fashions
from Valentina's, Kosins,
Bricker-Tunis Furs, D.O.C.
Optique, Ray and Ida with
hair design by Mariomax
salon and make-up by
Tamara's Institute de Beaute.
Models in feline poses,
dressed in black, came out of
the caves wearing pearls,
beads and watches from 'Pap-
per's. The cold background
was also perfect for the many
international furs from
Bricker-Tunis.
Cashmere coats and wool
suits from leading designers
at Kosins highlighted the
men's fashions. Ray and Ida
showed many knit ensembles
in purple and black that can
be mixed and matched. For
evening, black and white
gowns reigned. Models from
Valentina's wore silk dresses
with spectacular colored
jackets.
The evening had an inter-
national aura with a Broad-
way theme, an English play
and European designers. Dr.
Zvi Bentwich summed up the
universal cause: "It's not a
fight located in Israel or the
United States. It's an interna-
tional fight against AIDS." ❑

Temple, J.E.F.F.
Study Dance

The Temple Emanu-El
Religious School will present
the Hora Aviv Israeli folk
dance troupe at 10:30 a.m.
Dec. 18 at the temple.
This multi-media presenta-
tion will involve music,
visuals and dance to involve
the entire family in a tour
through a collage of Jewish
experiences that affected
Israeli dance.
This program is part of the
Jewish Sense-Ability series,
designed to offer fourth
through sixth graders and
their families a chance to
celebrate and learn about the
special aspects of Jewish life.
Admission is free. For reserva-

sponsored by Jewish Ex-
periences For Families.
