Congregation Beth Achim's
sisterhood, men's club,
Yachad (couples club) and
Young At Heart (seniors) will
sponsor their annual
Chanukah party at 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday at the synagogue.
The program will begin
with a candle-lighting
ceremony led by Cantor Max
Shimansky, followed by a
latke dinner served family-
style with separate entertain-
ment and treats for children.
The "Note-Ables" will pre-
sent a Chanukah suite and a
variety of Jewish and popular
melodies. Geri and Leo Oliva
also will perform several
duets.
The event will include a
magic show for third- to
eighth-graders and a pup-
peteer for the younger group.

Hears Schochet

Dr. Claude Schochet will
deliver an address for Federa-
tion Shabbat tomorrow at
Congregation Beth Achim.
Schochet is associate dean
for budget, planning and per-
sonnel, college of liberal arts,
and professor of mathematics
at Wayne State University.
He is a member of Jewish
Welfare Federation's culture
and education planning divi-
sion and chairman of the day
schools subcommittee.
