Gifts for: Dads Moms Kids Family Winter Camps Offered For Kids Of All Ages Tamarack Camps will spon- sor a winter camp for girls and boys in second-fifth grades at Camp Maas Dec. 26-28. Activities include tobogganing, ice skating, in- door crafts, cookouts, hayrides and activities at the Bert L. and Tuba Smokier Pioneer Skills Center. The director of the program is Jeffrey Metz, and the assistant director is Ruth Lederman. An advanced winter camp will follow Dec. 28-30 at Camp Maas for girls and boys in sixth-eighth grades. In ad- dition to a variety of winter activities, the older campers will have horseback riding and cross-country skiing. Marvin Berman and Warren Cohen will direct the pro- gram. The girls supervisor will be Jackie Fruitman. New this year at Camp Maas is a winter riding ranch program from Dec. 26 to 28 for teens in the ninth grade. There will be daily instruc- tion in Western style horseback riding including trail rides. The riding takes place at the Milton K. Mahler Equestrian Center located on the camp grounds. A Bubbie-Zadie and Kinder Weekend for grandparents and grandchildren will be held at the Butzel Conference Center Dec. 16-18. Counselors provide the leadership for all activities, from crafts to talent shows, as well as child care assistance. All family camp weekends are directed by Carol Parven and Jeffrey Metz. The annual New Year's Family Camp for parents and children is scheduled for Dec. 28-Jan. 1 at the Butzel Con- ference Center. Cross-country skiing, skating, crafts, winter sports, talent shows, and three New Year's Eve pro- grams for different ages are planned. Winter family camp will take place from Feb. 17 to 19 at the same site. The kosher kitchens at Camp Maas and the Butzel Conference Center are under the supervision of the Coun- cil of Orthodox Rabbis. A six-day snow week will be held at Camp Kennedy in the Upper Peninsula for teens in the 10th and 11th grades. Highlighting the program is an overnight trek on cross- country skis to Lake Superior.
