Yachad-NCSY is open to all Jewish developmentally disabled persons between the ages of 12 and 18. At the Chanukah event, there will be refreshments, games and a special program which will teach participants how and when to light the Chanukah menorah. Participants will take part in a Chanukah relay day, as well as prepare Chanukah confections and treats to take home with them. Traditional Chanukah sufganiyot will be served. Chevreyah Zach, the junior high chapter for grades six- eight, will meet on Monday for a Chanukah extravagan- za at Young Israel of Southfield. Members are in- vited to a Chanukah pizza party at 6 p.m. at the synagogue, and will par- ticipate in the Chanukah pro- gram following the meal. Bogrim, the collegiate chapter of B'nei Akiva, will hold its annual aliyah con- ference in New York City Feb. 16-19. The conference is open to college students from North America, and will deal with the issues of aliyah to- day as seen from a B'nei Akiva perspective. Scholarships Available The American Arabic and Jewish Friends, a local organization of Americans of Jewish or Arabic descent, in cooperation with the Greater Detroit Interfaith Round Table, will award funds rais- ed at an annual dinner to deserving high school seniors in 1989. These students, of Arabic or Jewish background and iden- tification, are eligible to receive a $500 scholarship.
