SEE FOR YOURSELF. SEE ISRAEL.

Jerusalem (JTA) — An
Israeli woman was seriously
injured in a rock-throwing at-
tack, Nov. 8 on the outskirts
of Kfar Sava, an Israeli town
just outside the West Bank.
Margaret Rosner, 52, suf-
fered brain damage. She was
on the critical list, following
surgery at Beilinson Hospital
in Petach Tikvah.
The woman, a resident of
Alfei Menashe, a Jewish set-
tlement in the West Bank,
was riding in a taxi driven by
her husband. A large rock,
hurled from an orange grove
alongside the road, crashed
through the windshield, hit-
ting her squarely on the head.
The attack occurred on the
road between Kfar Sava and
the West Bank Arab town of
Kalkilya.
After the incident, Jewish
settlers in the vicinity attack-
ed the orange grove and
uprooted a row of trees in
revenge. They later found out
that the grove is owned by
Jews. The embarrassed set-
tlers have offered to pay for
the damage.
The settlers are complain-
ing bitterly that the Israel
Defense Force does not pro-
vide adequate protection on

the roads. They demand the
right to use firearms against
rock-throwers.
The region is one where
friction is growing steadily
between Arabs and Jews.
