got to the finals of two other

But Krickstein feels he is a
better player now than he was
four years ago. "I can do more
things. I just think back then
the guys didn't know my
game as well. I was hot and
really wasn't thinking. I was
just hitting some big
forehands and some guys
were kind of scared of me. I
think the draws are a lot
tougher now."
Krickstein remains on the
comeback trail. "I have to im-
prove, still, in a lot of other
areas. But I'm happy with
where I am right now . . . I'll
be seeded next year, where I
wasn't at the beginning of
this year."
Despite the loss, Goldberg
said, "I was satisfied with the
way I played, no question. I
wasn't really happy with the

end of the third set when it
got to 3-all. I just played a bad
serving game (at 3-4). At this
level you can't do that."
Goldberg will not play in
any more pro tournaments
until the college season ends
next spring. "College tennis
is fun. This is my last year.
I'm really enjoying it. We've
got a great team. I think a lot
of the top players in college
are every bit as good as some
of the pros."
But Goldberg will try the
pro tour some time next year.
"It's about time to start mak-
ing a little money," he said.
In January, Goldberg will
try out for the U.S. Maccabiah
tennis team at the national
qualifier in Philadelphia.
"I'm really looking forward to
that. I think it's going to be
a great experience . . . It real-
ly means a lot to me."
