flown in Dover sole is cooked
in at least four different
styles . . . Today's trend
toward lighter dining has
been popular for years at
Kingsley.
Hotel accommodations at
Kingsley Inn are just part of
the story of what started as a
90-room operation and today
has 181 rooms plus 35 suites
. . . Upholstered fabrics are
rich and heavy, the towels
thick and big . . . also two-line
telephones with hold and
message capacity.
Long known for celebra-
tions, Kingsley Inn has
helped thousands of area
families host weddings,
engagement parties, bar and
bat mitzvahs, anniversaries,
birthdays, etc. . . . It's a role
the closely-knit Zawideh
family takes very seriously as
they become part of the fami-
ly history.
Facilities include the
Kingsley Inn Grand
Ballroom, with its sunken
marble dance floor, 17
meeting and/or banquet
rooms of varied sizes, swimm-
ing pool, sauna, etc.
The Zawideh respect and
pride have made Kingsley
Inn a foremost place to go .. .
It has feeling . . . warm and
welcoming . . . In the tradi-
tion of a fine club, it is
dignified and elegant .. . The
same can be said for Sam and
Gabe Zawideh and their
children . . . Dignity has
purified the ultimate reason-
ing of trusted respect and
pride at Kingsley Inn.
SPRING OF 1986 was a
major turning point for the
Caucus Club in Penobscot
Building on Congress
downtown . . . That's when
seven gents took over the
popular dining and entertain-
ment emporium from Lainie
and the late Max Pincus .. .
Within an hour after signing,
they went to work having it
renovated back to the Caucus
Club's original state . . . No
more pizzas, etc. . . . Caucus
Club had returned again as
the staff members were told
to toss aside their very infor-
mal attire and don tuxedos as
before . . . and the menu
almost immediately reverted
to the old one . . . Word soon
got out that the Caucus Club
was back.
GOLDEN MUSHROOM,
10 Mile and Southfield, may
be undergoing a big outer
facelift, but it is very much
still open for business . . . En-
tire new front slated for com-
pletion in couple of months,
will include a portico covering
under which folks will be able
to drive their cars.
SECOND SAGEO'S restau-
rant by Alia and Jim Sage
will open around first of year
with banquet facilities . . . in
Signature Building on 11
Mile and Inkster . . . It'll be
called Sageo's of Southfield
. . . Their other spot is in the
Mid-11 Plaza, 11 Mile and
Middlebelt.
"RAPPAPORT NIGHT"
Nov. 1 at the Birmingham
Theatre was a big success . .
with over 90 people named
Rappaport . . . or whatever
spelling . . . attending perfor-
mance of Ibny Award comedy,
I'm Not Rappaport, starring
Jack Weston . . . as guests of
the Birmingham Theatre.
Public Relations Director
Shirl Harris graciously in-
vited Rapaports, Rapoports
. . . and women whose maiden
name was Rappaport.
All Rappaports were given
large buttons to wear that
read, "I AM RAPPAPORT"
. . . And one young couple
from Ann Arbor really
entered into the spirit by
wearing T-shirts that said, "I
AM RAPPAPORT."
Jack Weston and the cast
gave a very fine performance
. . . after which he met the
Rappaports (or however it was
spelled) in the theater for a
few more laughs while
autographing many
programs.
HOW IS THIS as a gift for
somebody you don't know
what to give . . . It's only a
mere $12,000 . . . at Vine-
yard's Wine Cellar on North-
western Highway.

two pounds of Beluga caviar,
over 300-year-old cognac,
100-year-old cognac in crystal

Mum's Cordon Rouge, bottle

RIALTO CAFE, Woodward
south of Nine Mile Road in
Ferndale, is gearing itself up
for Thanksgiving Day this
Thursday . . . That's when
Rialto goes through about 15
turkeys . . . 32 pounders each
. . . in the one-day period .. .
Only leftovers are the
meatless bones . . . Not even
enough for some turkey hash
for owners Charlie and Frank
Pappas and Frank's sweet
daughter at the cash register,
lovely Loula "LL" Pappas.
