FANNY ZACKS, 86, of Southfield, died Nov. 12. Sur- vived by a son, Norman; a daughter, Mrs. Seymour (Gloria) Collen; a brother, Isadore Komisar; eight grand- children and three great- grandchildren. Esther Kert Esther Ethel Kert, a founder of the Detroit Ladies of Le'chem Anneim, died Nov. 10. Born in Russia, Mrs. Kert helped raised $150,000 for Israel. She was a life member of B'nai B'rith Women and a member of Congregation Shaarey Zedek and its sisterhood, Sinai Hospital Guild and Jewish National Fund. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Betty Schwartz, Mrs. Janet Leven- son and Mrs. Harry (Harriet) Housman; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Esther; two sons, Joel of Far- mington Hills and Jerry of Bayside, N.Y.; a sister, Ruth Wen of New York; three grandchildren; and one great- granddaughter. Interment Long Island. Max Wolf Max Wolf, founder and owner of Atlas Plumbing Supply Co. of Detroit, died Nov. 15 at age 78. Born in Russia, Mr. Wolfe lived more than 60 years in Detroit. He founded his com- pany in 1927. He was a member of Congregation B'nai David for more than 50 years. He leaves his wife, Eva; three sons, Arthur, Harvey and William; a daughter, Marilyn Snyder; 12 grand- children and two great- grandchildren. Kenneth Fischer Kenneth Fischer, an at- torney with offices in Detroit, died Nov. 11 at age 80. Born in Chicago, Ill., Mr. Fischer was originally in the law firm of Fischer, Fischer and Fischer with his two brothers. He was graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 1930. During World War II he served five years as first lieutenant in the Navy in the South Pacific. He was the lighting com- missioner for the city of Detroit. In the late 1940s, he was a founding member and twice chairman of the 100 Club. Mr. Fischer served on the board of Yeshivath Beth Yehudah, which was founded by his father, the late Rabbi Moses Fischer. He was an ac- tive supporter of Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem and dedicated the eternal light at the hospital in memory of his parents. He was a member of Adat Shalom Syangogue and the Downtown Synagogue. He was a former board member of the Council of Orthodox Rabbis. He leaves a sister, Mrs. David (Blanche) Pollack. HOWARD S.
