Neither Freedman nor
Kahn is ready to give up the
ship. Freedman wants to raise
the consciousness of the
greater Jewish community
about the role of the yeshivah.
Kahn would like to see the
development of a modern pre-
school at the Lincoln Road
location in Southfield to serve
the young families who desire
a traditional Jewish educa-
tion for their nursery-age
children. He also hopes to see
the yeshivah reach financial
solvency. "Whatever that
takes I'll do," he explained. "I
don't want the school just to
survive; I want it to flourish."
