Genealogy
Group To Meet

"An Introduction to Jewish
Genealogy" is the theme of a
special presentation by the
Jewish Genealogical Society
of Michigan slated for S p.m.
Thursday at the Midrasha,
College of Jewish Studies.
Betty Provizer Starkman,
founder of JGS of Michigan
and a columnist for the mon-
thly LCha.yim section of The
Jewish News, will present an
overview of sources available
to researchers. Other
members of the group also
will share the results of their
research in a panel
moderated by JGS of
Michigan President Stan
Finkelstein.

Diabetes Topic
Of Program

In commemoration of Na-
tional Diabetes Month in
November, Harper Hospital
along with the American
Diabetes Association and the
city of Southfield, will spon-
sor a special program,
"Weight Management and
Diabetes" on Wednesday at
7 p.m. at the Southfield Civic
Center, City Council
Chambers.
