recently married to Jason
Scott Plagman, son of Ruth
Plagman of Phoenix and the
late Robert Plagman. The
bride's sister, Janis Sternberg
of Oak Park was matron of
honor and the bridegroom's
brother, David Plagman, was
best man. Also participating
in the wedding were David
and Janice Zeldes of Mesa,
Ariz., and Paul Sternberg and
Cary Ross Sternberg of Oak
Park. The couple is residing
in Scottsdale, Ariz.

SZ Dedicates
Sefer Torah

Congregation Shaarey
Zedek will dedicate its new
sefer lbrah on Nov. 13. More
than 900 congregants are par-
ticipating in funding the pro-
ject through dedicating por-
tions of the Torah.
The synagogue has commis-
sioned one of its new
members, Rebecca Rose, to
weave a silk mantle for the
Torah.
An exhibit, "Celebration of
the lbrah," will be on display
at the synagogue Nov. 13. A
related art exhibit by
students of Shaarey Zedek's
religious school will be part of
the display.

to the North Oakland area.
The Anamilo Club is a sup-
port group for those in-
dividuals who have had their
vocal cords removed due to
cancer.
