The Special Gifts Luncheon
of B'nai B'rith Women Coun-
cil of Metropolitan Detroit
will be held at Adat Shalom
Synagogue on Wednesday,
Nov. 9. It will pay triute to
Anne Ginsberg, Betty Silver-
farb and Gloria Solomon,
Special speaker this year will
be Hyla Lipsky of
Philadelphia, president of
B'nai B'rith Women.
Soralee Broida, council
president, has appointed as
special gifts chairman,
Marilyn Merdler and fund
raising chairman, Janet
Gubkin. Luncheon ar-
rangements are being made
by Charlotte Edelheit. Jean-
nie Weiner is in charge of
centerpieces. Belle Rubin has
arranged for a fashion show.
The goal for the annual
fund-raising campaign is
$150,000, proceeds of which
support the Youth and Ser-
vices Appeal of the inter-
national organization. In-
cluded among these projects
is the Residential Treatment
Center, formerly known as
the Children's Home and
Group House, in Israel.

continuing education class
will be held at 9 a.m., Nov. 6

Israeli Dance
Program Begins
The Jewish Community
Center of Metropolitan
Detroit has an Israeli folk
dance program at 7 p.m.
Tuesdays at the Jimmy Pren-
tis Morris Building.
Sunny Segal is the teacher.
She began her dance studies
in The Hague at the close of
World War II as a young child,
and after immigrating to
Toronto, completed her train-
ing under the direction of
Teme Londen Kernerman and
the Nir Kodah Dancers. She
was taught the traditional
methods of Fred Berk, the
father of Israeli folk dance.
There is a fee and the public
is invited. Request dancing is
from 8 to 10 p.m. On the last
Tuesday of the month there is
a party. For information, call
the Jewish Center, 967-4030.
