School Wing Is Approved The West Bloomfield Township Board of Super- visors gave its final approval to Congregation B'nai Israel of West Bloomfield for a 10-room school wing addition. Planned are eight classrooms (two to be used for a day nursery program), a library and an office. Hebrew school classes are currently con- ducted in the social hall, foyer, kitchen and small chapel. The completion date is set for late winter or early spring of 1989. Congregation B'nai Israel's Hebrew school is a two-day-a- week program, affiliated with United Hebrew Schools. Classes are available for children age 4 through bar/bat mitzvah; plus a two- year post-b'nai mitzvah course. Adult education in conver- sational Hebrew, Jewish law and custom, liturgy, Yiddish and an adult chazzanut (chanting) class are offered by Dr. Sherman P. Kirshner, rab- bi of B'nai Israel.
