The conference will be
preceded by an opening din-
ner on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at
the Maple/Drake Jewish
Community Center. Moshe
Greenberg, professor at the
Hebrew University in Israel,
will be the keynote speaker.
Admission to all sessions is
free and open to the public.

School Wing
Is Approved
The West Bloomfield
Township Board of Super-
visors gave its final approval
to Congregation B'nai Israel
of West Bloomfield for a
10-room school wing addition.
Planned are eight classrooms
(two to be used for a day
nursery program), a library
and an office. Hebrew school
classes are currently con-
ducted in the social hall,
foyer, kitchen and small
chapel.
The completion date is set
for late winter or early spring
of 1989.
Congregation B'nai Israel's
Hebrew school is a two-day-a-
week program, affiliated with
United Hebrew Schools.
Classes are available for
children age 4 through
bar/bat mitzvah; plus a two-
year post-b'nai mitzvah
course.
Adult education in conver-
sational Hebrew, Jewish law
and custom, liturgy, Yiddish
and an adult chazzanut
(chanting) class are offered by
Dr. Sherman P. Kirshner, rab-
bi of B'nai Israel. New
enrollees are welcome. For in-

Study Forum
For Young Adults
Bais Chabad Torah Center
will conduct its monthly
study forum for young adults
in the home of Dr. Michael
and Ann Lehman, 6191 Bux-
ton, West Bloomfield, on Sun-
day at 8 p.m.
Rabbi Elimelech Silberberg
will lead a discussion on the
sections of Ramban dealing
with ideology and ethics
(Hilchos Bayos). The sessions
are followed by refreshments.
