Moshe will formally install Rabbi Allan S. Meyerowitz at a din- ner at the synagogue on Nov 10. The program will begin with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m. Rabbi Irwin Groner of Shaarey Zedek, vice president of the Rabbinical Assembly of America, will be the install- ing officer. Tributes will be delivered by B'nai Moshe President Robert P. Roth and Cantor Louis Klein. Rabbi Meyerowitz, a 1980 Jewish Theological Seminary graduate, came to B'nai Moshe in September 1987 after seven years as rabbi of the West Clarkston Jewish Center in Spring Valley, N.Y. Since then, he has initiated a variety of new programs at B'nai Moshe, including Ibrah for Tots, a monthly series for pre-schoolers and their parents; family Minchah ser- vices; the B'nai Moshe Torah Study Club; and Shabbat "Lunch and Learn" lectures on contemporary and --- historical social issues. Most recently, he and his wife, Robin, d Jewish educator, launched the B'nai Moshe nursery school. Rabbi Meyerowitz is a member of the executive com- mittee of the Rabbinical Assembly of America and chairs the assembly's Soviet Jewry Committee. He has led and participated in numerous marches and civil demonstra- tions on behalf of Soviet Jews. Temple Emanu-EI Holds Workshop On Holidays Temple Emanu-El is con- ducting a Holiday Workshop Series for individuals wishing to learn more about the Jewish holidays. Participants will learn how to celebrate Shabbat and ma- jor Jewish holidays in their homes, the meanings of the holidays and how to begin or enhance their holiday traditions. The series, adopted in 1986 at the temple, combines music, art, storytelling and cooking with holiday home ceremonies. In addition, each partici- pant will receive a 400-page manual of Shabbat and holi- day information and three cassette tapes of music for Shabbat, Chanukah, Purim and Passover.
