JWF Names Ellen Sherman Ellen Sherman has been named program associate of the Jewish Welfare Federa- tion Women's Division. Sher- Braille Group Needs Help The award-winning Braille bindery of Temple Beth El needs volunteers to help bind Braille books for the blind. Begun in 1961, the bindery handles 2,000 hard cover books per year. These books, in more than four languages, reach Braille readers in all parts of the U.S., Israel, England, India and Africa. The bindery also binds tex- tbooks on all subjects for the blind in the public schools of Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties. In addition, it binds books in Hebrew and English for the Braille Institute of America and religious texts for the blind of all denominations. Training is provided and knowledge of Braille is not 1, Ellen Sherman man has been director of Youth and Education at Adat Shalom Synagogue the past two years. Sherman's responsibilities with Women's Division in- clude the education commit- tee and telethons, and she will also staff the Young Adult Division social and outreach committees.
