Tim Boxer, national colum-
nist and author, will be
guest speaker at Temple
Israel Sisterhood's annual
Chanukah boutique Nov. 7 at
the temple.
The day-long bazaar will
open at 10 a.m. and run until
3:30 p.m. with a number of
local artisans and merchants
displaying original work or
creative designs for holiday
gift giving. There will be gift
selections for everyone in the
family.
Following a noon luncheon
Boxer will speak on "Jewish
Stars of Hollywood" complete
with his "Jewish Celebrity
Slide Show." Boxer has a syn-
dicated column "Traveling
with the Stars." He has writ-
ten gossip and television col-
umns in the New York Post
and was associated with fam-
ed columnist Earl Wilson for
seventeen years.
He is the author of Jewish
Celebrity Hall of Fame, and an
accomplished photographer.
The program is under the
direction of sisterhood presi-
dent, Sara Hoffman; program
vice president, Janie Roth;
Claude Sabbah, head-
master of ORT Strasbourg in
France, will address guests at
the annual capital funds
event for Michigan Region,
Women's American ORT, on
Oct. 31 at 8 p.m. in the
Bloomfield Hills home of
Sharon and Stephen Schaffer.

Folowing military service
as a sub-lieutenant in the
French National Army
Reserves, Sabbah became an
instructor in the employment
skills program at ORT
Villiers-le-Bel. Other posi-
tions he has held include that
of professor of mathematics
and physics as well as profes-
sional development of young
adults at ORT Montreuil and
Ecole de Travail ORT;
technical director at ORT
Iran and technical director at
ORT Toulouse. Sabbah has
held his current position
since 1981.
ORT's capital funds event
has a goal of providing the
funds to equip the Rochelle
Lieberman Classroom at the
Beverly Minkoff Junior High
School in the Beit Ha-keren
section of Jerusalem.
Capital Funds and Golden
Circle Co-chairmen Mary Lee
Fishman and Harriet
Jacobon have announced the
addition of Dorothy Rubin to
the capital funds committee.
Rubin, over the years, has
been the Michigan Region's
top fund raiser.
