gang that has been murder-
ing Arabs suspected of collab-
orating with the Israeli
authorities, according to Gen.
Amram Mitzna, commander
of the central region, which
includes the West Bank.
Mitzna claimed the ter-
rorist cell was associated with
the wing of the Palestine
Liberation Organization con-
trolled by Yasar Arafat.
Arab extremists now are
trying to extend the
10-month-old Palestinian
uprising from the ad-
ministered territories into
Israel proper.
They have circulated "Leaf-
let No. 1" among Israeli
Arabs in Galilee. The leaflet
threatens those who col-
laborate with Israeli
authorities and closes with
"Long live the intifada."
The leaflet was signed by
the Urban Popular Commit-
tee, a hitherto unknown
group.

Performance
Ratings Drop

Tel Aviv (JTA) — Premier
Yitzhak Shamir's perfor-
mance rating dropped sharp-
ly among Israeli voters last
month, according to a poll
published Sunday in Haaretz.
But so did that of his
political rival, Foreign
Minister Shimon Peres, and
other politicians of both ma-
jor parties, indicating grow-
ing public disenchantment
with the Labor-Likud coali-
tion leadership.
Israel will hold its general
elections on Nov. 1.
A Pori poll conducted in
September among 1,200
adults showed that 27.8 per-
cent of the respondents ap-
proved of Shamir's perfor-
mance, down from 32.9per-
cent in August.
Public approval of Peres,
who heads the Labor Party,
fell from 38.2 to 33.9 percent.
Defense Minister Yitzhak
Rabin, also a Laborite, drop-
ped to 46.2 percent from a
50.2 percent approval rating
in August.
On the Likud side, Com-
merce and Industry Minister
Ariel Sharon slipped from
23.8 to 20.8 percent approval.
Housing Minister David
Levy's approval rating was
25.2 percent in September,
compared with 25.6 percent
in August.
Finance Minister Moshe
Nissim, a member of Likud's
Liberal Party wing, was the
only senior minister whose
performance rating increas-
ed. It was 42.2 percent in
September, up from 41.4 per-
cent in August.

Is Your Doctor a Sinai Doctor?

Not all Sinai doctors are Jewish. But
they've all got seychel, and they know
how to treat you like a mensch.
It's not easy to join the Sinai Medical
Staff. Applicants have to complete an
accredited residency program in a med-
ical specialty. They're expected to be cer-
tified by the national examining board in
that specialty. Their credentials are scru-
tinized by other physicians in their own
and related fields before they are rec-
ommended for appointment by the Board
of Trustees.

More than 300 members of Sinai's
Medical Staff are on the faculty of the
medical schools at Wayne State Univer-
sity or the University of Michigan or the
dental school at the University of Detroit.
We at Sinai get a lot of naches from
our medical staff. If your doctor is not a
member of the Sinai Hospital medical
staff, ask yourself one question—and ask
your doctor, too: WHY NOT?
If you don't have a doctor, or are look-
ing for a specialist, call our Physician
Referral Service. We'll be happy to make
a shidduch.
