He leaves three daughters, Mrs. Cecille Kerner, Mrs. Rita Sklar and Mrs. Phyllis Sherline of Nor- thridge, Calif.; two brothers, Morris of Los Angeles, Calif., and Joseph of Israel; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. ETTA BARBAS, 79, died Oct. 16. ANNA WEINBERG, 80, of Southfield, died Oct. 13. Sur- vived by a brother, George; nieces and nephews. Sherwood Colburn Sherwood Colburn, partner and co-founder of Hermelin, Colburn, Colburn, Blumberg and Steinberg Insurance Agency in Troy, died Oct. 12 at age 60. A native Detroiter, Mr. Col- burn was a member of Con- gregation Shaarey Zedek. He was a commissioner of in- surance for the state of Michigan (1961-1963), ap- pointed by Gov. John Swain- son and completed his term under Gov. George Romney. He was the appointed diector of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis from 1980 to 1988. Mr. Colburn was active for many years in Democratic Party circles. He was a treasurer of Riegle for Senate Committee in 1982, division chairman and pre-campaign officer for the Allied Jewish Campaign from 1967 to 1978, a former board member of the Jewih Vocational Service and Community Workshop, a former board member of the Detroit Service Group of the Jewish Welfare Federation, former board member of the Jewish Community Center and a member of Franklin Hills Country Club. He leaves his wife, Sharron; two sons, David and Robert; a brother, Leslie; and two granddaughters. 01,
